Leadership is a vital factor in the long term sustainability of lifesaving. As the community and business environment becomes more complex and demanding, so must lifesaving take the initiative to establish leadership confidence in its future. It is only through the development of leadership strength within the movement that this will happen. Lifesaving's future does not exist except in the actions taken by its members to invent that future.

In 2008 Life Saving Vicotira delievered 2 two Under 13 Camps with 64 participants, One Under 15 Camp with 40 participants and an Under 18 Leadership & Development Program that engaged 20.  The Building Leaders Scholarship is underway for 2008-2009 with 18 of Victoria's finest and up and coming members working together and with areas of interest to build their Leadership skills in pursuit of improving lifesaving for themselves and the community in the future. 

In 2009 the Y&LD will be offering three Under 13 Camps here at Life Saving Victoria and one Under 15 and 18 program.  Dates for these programs will be made available later in 2008. 

 
As part of its ongoing commitment to leadership development, Life Saving Victoria has developed a number of programs, linking into a national leadership framework that clearly show a defined leadership development pathway for identified club leaders.
