Overview
Victoria's lifesavers engage in regular competition to maintain their skills and fitness. These competitions include Beach, Pool and Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) competitions, Competitions are held at club and state levels. Competition is both fun and fierce, and conducted in the highest standard of sportsmanship; lifesavers are regarded by many as pillars of the Australian community.
Competition is provided in varying levels of intensity for a comprehensive range of age categories, male and female. Members from Under 7s to Masters (30 years & over) enjoy the sporting events in a variety of disciplines, such as sand sprints, beach relays, surf skis, both open water and pool swimming.
